33 Days of AIP

It’s been 3 months since my last post. I’ve still been working through some food stuff (currently doing Paleo with some reintroductions), so that’s been my main focus these past few months. I promised a post on my AIP journey. Here’s how I lived for one month and the eye opening experiences I had involving my body and my mind. I had no idea I could feel so crappy from eating so well! WHAT IS AIP? AIP, or the Autoimmune Protocol, is an elimination diet designed to figure out what causes an inflammatory reaction in your body. This is a … Continue reading 33 Days of AIP

Kilogram Tea Organic Masala Chai Concentrate

Since my last post, I’ve had recent dietary changes. I started doing the AIP Diet with my mom (if you’re not familiar with the diet, click here to learn more). I plan on doing a post about the whole process at a later date. This elimination diet requires you to cut out just about anything that could cause inflammation. In doing so, I had to cut out my very favorite drink – Chai Lattes. So since I haven’t had one in 20 days, this post is an Ode to Chai Lattes, and my absolute favorite brand of mix – Kilogram … Continue reading Kilogram Tea Organic Masala Chai Concentrate

Cocoyo by GT’s Living Foods

I spotted this at my local Fresh Thyme and decided to give it a whirl. WHAT IS IT: Cocoyo by GT’s Living Foods is a Dairy-Free Coconut Probiotic Yogurt. I didn’t realize what I was getting myself into when I first tried this, I wish I had read the label. You go in thinking, okay, dairy-free coconut yogurt, sounds good. I tasted it and thought I absolutely hated it. You get a coconut flavor paired with a intense effervescence and an almost spoiled taste. I read the label – they warn you. After a few more bites, and a day … Continue reading Cocoyo by GT’s Living Foods

Redi-Box

I’ve moved! Hence, the hiatus. This move was very tough in trying to stay low waste. I hate using cardboard boxes, so I took to the internet to find the best reusable option. In Chicago, the best option was Redi-Box. I can’t say enough about how easy this process was. WHAT IS IT: Redi-Box is a box rental company in the Chicagoland area. You choose your apartment/home size (how many bedrooms), and they suggest the correct amount of boxes for you (mine was 30, and I have to say they had it just about right). They drop off your boxes, … Continue reading Redi-Box

MaraNatha Peanut Butter

And here we are, the item that started the idea for this site. WHAT IS IT: Peanut Butter! But not the one you grew up with. This only has two ingredients, and comes in a glass jar. WHY IT’S GOOD FOR YOU: Organic Dry Roasted Peanuts. Sea Salt. That’s it! There’s no oil added, and the flavor is amazing. Other peanut butters have fully hydrogenated vegetable oils (which can still contain small traces of trans fat), mono and diglycerides (also can contain trace amounts of trans fat), molasses and sugar (you already know). Trans fats raise your bad cholesterol and … Continue reading MaraNatha Peanut Butter

The MakeUp Eraser

WHAT IT IS: The MakeUp Eraser is a cloth that effectively gets rid of ALL OF YOUR MAKE UP with JUST water. No joke, I couldn’t believe it either. This microfiber cloth is reusable and machine washable. WHY IT’S GOOD FOR YOU: I was a disposable makeup wipe user for probably over a decade. Often times, my skin became irritated and sensitive. The majority of make up wipes are packed with chemicals, the main issue being the fragrance they add to the wipes. The MakeUp Eraser eliminates any chemical use on your face, and gets rid of all of your … Continue reading The MakeUp Eraser

Plaine Products

WHAT IS IT: Plaine Products is this handy site I found through Litterless. It has shampoo/conditioner, lotion, body wash and face wash that comes in steel returnable containers. They ship your product to you and when you’re finished, you send the container back to them to reuse! WHY IT’S GOOD FOR YOU: These products are completely toxin-free. They use essential oils instead of perfumes, and don’t contain any of the other garbage you find in typical body/face products. They’re completely transparent with their ingredients – you can find a list here. WHY IT’S GOOD FOR THE EARTH: They’ve thought of … Continue reading Plaine Products

Welcome to Organically Wasteless

Welcome to a site for the environmentally and health conscious individual. In it, you’ll find a list of foods and products that are organic and low waste – and where to find them. I started my health and wellness journey about a year ago in July 2018. I wasn’t familiar with nutrition, and was driving about 2 hours a day for work and looking for something to fill my time. I stumbled upon an amazing podcast called The Ultimate Health Podcast hosted by Jesse Chapus and Marni Wasserman. I had no idea I was completely in the dark about food … Continue reading Welcome to Organically Wasteless
