I spotted this at my local Fresh Thyme and decided to give it a whirl.

WHAT IS IT: Cocoyo by GT’s Living Foods is a Dairy-Free Coconut Probiotic Yogurt. I didn’t realize what I was getting myself into when I first tried this, I wish I had read the label. You go in thinking, okay, dairy-free coconut yogurt, sounds good. I tasted it and thought I absolutely hated it. You get a coconut flavor paired with a intense effervescence and an almost spoiled taste. I read the label – they warn you. After a few more bites, and a day later trying it again, it’s not bad (once I managed my expectations). It’s basically creamy, coconut kombucha.
WHY IT’S GOOD FOR YOU: Fermented food is awesome for people who have inflammation. There’s only 1g of sugar per serving (2 servings in each jar), and there’s a ton of probiotics in each bite. Next time I’m on antibiotics, I’ll be choosing this to help replenish my flora.
WHY IT’S GOOD FOR THE EARTH: Another glass jar! Yes, there is a plastic screw cap, but think about the waste from normal plastic yogurt containers. This one is a great size to clean out and make a candle, put paper clips in…whatever!
OTHER HIGHLIGHTS:
- Fresh Thyme has this, along with their Kombucha products. On their website it shows they might have it at Target!
- I tried the Vanilla flavor
